You’re invited to join the PPP for its tenth anniversary monthly paddle. This paddle will start at the same launch ramp as the original did 10 years ago and will include a sunset/evening trip. The plan is to meet at the McInnis Launch ramp in Moss Point at 5:30 PM, on Saturday, 6/25/22. The ramp address is 3300 Hemlock Ave. Moss Point, Ms. 39563.  The ramp is also referred to as Choctaw Marina and Hemlock Ave Launch. We will paddle 3 miles through a marsh maze and end at a 40′ high sand dune overlooking the Pascagoula River. Bring a sack meal and drinks and we will dine on top of the dune while watching the sun set over the Pascagoula River and delta. The trip home will be at dusk to dark, so be sure to bring a light. Since this is a celebration paddle, decorating and or lighting up your kayak would add to the fun. We will be sitting on a sand dune, so a towel or blanket to sit on, or even a camp chair might make it more comfortable. Insect repellent may also be needed. We will have a portable toilet set up.
Regarding social distancing, we ask that you abide by the proper COVID social distancing guidelines. Bear in mind that even if your risk tolerance is low, those around you may be in a higher risk category, so we should all be more conservative in our actions.  Please do not attend if you are not feeling well, no matter the cause.
We hope that you’ve enjoyed the past ten years of the group paddles as much as we have. Our goal has always been primarily, to have fun. But we’ve also recognized several side benefits, such as helping paddling newcomers and experienced paddlers alike to find new paddling venues, meet likeminded paddlers, learn about other types of paddle craft, and learn paddling and safety techniques, all while enjoying the beautiful local scenery. We’ve found that the social aspects of group paddles may be the greatest benefit.
